Japanese Traditional Craftsmanship designation

It sounds like an organization that wants money to validate the quality of those products. Not all companies feel the need! ———-I had a self claimed papered Chef on this site tell me that having my knives validated by NSF would boost the sales of my Custom knives ... I told him in over 23 years of making & selling my custom Culinary knives, I’ve never been asked once if they were NSF rated..... The companies you mentioned, most likely feel they have a name & validation on their own..

It has nothing to do with money and everything to do with tradition.im guessing
Japan values it's crafts
Certain crafts, like blade smithing, get a designated stamp showing it is a traditional craft made in the traditional way with certain materials.
The list of requirements is long
A lot of great Smith's don't have it as they don't meet a certain requirement, maybe not the required 100 year old heritage or use modern tools or foriegn materials
