Been thinking of picking up the original FRN handled one with serrations--do any of you guys have one, and what are your impressions of it? Thanks.

I have one.It has great handle ergos. The 440C blade is a little too thin to my liking. It comes razor sharp out of the box & has one of the sharpest points I've ever seen on a blade.I just touched the tip with hardly any pressure at all & it broke the skin.I've done the same with dozens of other knives & this never happened. That tip is needle sharp!
Otherwise,It's a well made killing tool. That's about all it's good for.It doesn't make for a very practical EDC.I can't really imagine explaining to a LEO "I just use it to open boxes at work".

Aloha

I have a SE version, and my work buddy has a PE version. Anyway, my buddy stabbed his into a wood wall to see how it'd affect the tip (bone simulation, or other hard object on clothing, etc.). He didn't goo all that hard, and when he pulled the knife out, about 1/8" of the tip was gone. Just be careful with that tip...

Explaining it is something else...I have shown mine to a cop here, and he was like, "WTF?!!" I asked him if it would get taken away were I ever "stopped" and frisked. He said it depends, but most likely because it just looks too damn evil!:D The PE version looks only a lil' evil then I guess.:p

Sturdy Knife though, and a good feel in hand.

God bless:cool:

Thanks for all of the input everybody! Any more? Also, I've heard that the smaller version can be converted into an auto... it's legal for me, so how would you go about doing it?
Thanks again!

Why don't you just buy an auto? :p

Just handle a RB auto today, neat knife, a bit too light (both weight and heavy duty) for my taste. Nonetheless, the knife will do what it's meant to - SD, although the tip is a bit fragile. You might be interested in the AK 101, very simular design, better ergo IMHO, flipper instead of auto, and the tip can definitely take more abuse.http://www.boker.de/index.php?c=48,46,&a=01AK102&p=&pp=0
