JK knife info, wanted

I picked up a JK Canadian Belt Knife. I like it. I have looked for information on JK knives and found very little information that wasn't at least ten years old.
Who is JK? I think he was a custom maker in a suburb of Chicago. First name John? Is he still in business? I can find no contact information.
