Hi everyone. I'm sure many of you are familiar with my father, John Parker, Sr. original cofounder of Smoky Mountain Knife Works. I hope it is ok to post his obit here. Also, his 11 grandchildren have set up a box at SMKW for you to leave your memories or any pictures you might have, etc. It is located under the big elephant in the rare and antique knives showcases. You may also send memories (we would love to hear all your stories and especially for you to share any pictures you might have) to JohnParkerSrMemorial@gmail.com

My condolences to you and the family.

(This is the right place for the post.)

SMKW catalogs were a thing my dad and I bonded over when I was growing up in the 90’s. He was responsible for that enrichment in my life and I’m sorry to hear of his passing. My sincere condolences.

Sorry for your loss. I have bought many a knives from your store while vacationing in Gatlinburg.

Thanks everyone for your condolences. I have not been getting notifications from the forum that there have been replies. If anyone has any older catalogs (pre-1989) I would love it if you'd contact me, maybe you could provide some scans for me. My sister and I are also looking for the Pigeon Forge Fats barlow knife. It was probably produced in the very early 80's. Has Pigeon Forge Fats stamped on the blade with Dad's caricature. It was produced in abalone, pearl, and bone.
