Juiceman II vs Omega 4000 Juicers

For the last year I've used the Juiceman II Juicer.
Worked well but I kept thinking that the pulp weighed a lot.
So I researched a new juicer for fruit and juicy vegetables.
I have a dry juicer that I can get liquid out of a blade of grass, two gear low RPM. But it ain't no good for Fruit and stuff .

I like 2 apples, 2 beets, and a lemon juiced....

So after much lookin I decided on the Omega 4000. Cause it had a pulp extractor and tossed the pulp into a bin.
I've used it for a few days now and it is everything I wanted. The pulp is now lightweight. I get ~ 20% more juice from a given volume. It's easier to clean in spite of having more parts to take apart.
I put a bag in the pulp bin and just remove and toss it.
I wasn't too concerned about the motor warranty but it's 15 years.
The Omega 4000 shreds and juices better, tosses the pulp better...maybe because it's drier....
The mesh juice basket is at least 50% more area than the Juiceman. The blade is designed differently than the Juiceman. It shreds instead of cuts. The Omega makes loading fruit, etc easier with the shredder it uses. Less force to juice the material thru the feed tube.

The Juiceman is ~ $80 and the Omega was $240 shipped.
I initially ordered from Discountjuicers.com but they hadn't shipped after 5 days so I asked them to cancel the order. They were very accomodating.
I ordered the Omega 4000 from Amazon. had it in two days....

The Omega 4000 is a GREAT Juicer. I juice a lot and the cost of organic fruits, veggies adds up and I wanted the most yield. I have it now.

Pics of the Juicer and juicing
Not much bigger than the Juiceman. About the same size

I use the Perrin and mostly my Deviant11 Kitchen knives

I ended up cutting the large beet slices in half to fit the feed tube

Result is a 12 ounce glass to the brim. This glass is ~ 1/16 too tall. So I'll use another when I get some new glasses.

Cleanup is quick and easy

Tom thanks for the review. We've contemplated getting a juicer.

Can you attribute any health benefits from making your own juice?

Dave, as you know....the last year has been a real "pain" for me
Yuck, Yuck...

When I juice I feel vitality.
BUT
I do live a healthier eating lifestyle. This is coupled with the juicing and walking.
I use the Beet/lemon/apple juice everyday. I hate beets!
I wouldn't eat em.
They're very good for you.
The good stuff in juice enters the blood much quicker if eaten and I get more than if I ate it. Who would eat a lemon...rind and all?

I can't give good scientific evidence. Many have done so on various web sites.
I know that MANY folk have said how good I look since I been juicin and eatin better.
More juicin than eatin better. I love pizza. and am hooked on Carbs :)

The way I feel is good enough evidence for me to continue to juice.
There are MANY recipes of juice.
I also like carrot/apple

I offer tastes of my juice, which I find sweet and tastey, I've not found one loved one who likes it...

That was gonna be my next question, what's some tasty juice recipes. Also does the juice come out hot? Do you chill it before drinking?

juice does not come out hot. It'll be ~ the temp that have the fruit at.
I juice right out of the fridge, wash em off, slice em, juice em.
Drink em

Recipes to come

i have a juiceman, works ok, sure makes a lot of noise though, certainly wouldnt wanna run it late at nite w/all the others asleep lol, kinda hard to clean also, its the 'original' one not the 2 so the 2 may be better...........

really enjoy the juice, carrots, tomatoes, celery, its all good juiced. apple too especially.

How well does it work on carrots, Tom?

Jack
Works well. I juiced 2 apples and 3 carrots last night. Pulp was still much lighter than with the Juiceman II.
Same ease of cleaning on the Omega. The Juiceman II would have a filled mesh strainer and I'd have to scrub more.
