Question, I am wantin to order some of these for gifts for some people. I emailed them and have yet to recieve a response. Is this normal, does anyone know? I was just inquiring to stock levels of certain colors.

Does anyone have the brass one? I am wanting to know of peoples general opinion of these, and see some pics if anyone has any, to give me an idea about size.

i have no idea on their response time.. i have heard nothing but good things about those folks..

i have also wanted one of these K&M matchcases for a long time... i have yet to order one... feel free to order one for me as a gift...:D

HAHA right after I wrote this, keith emailed me back. My original email never made it I guess.....

I will keep ya in mind mike;)

Ive been wanting one of these for a long time too. I think they will make good gifts. I might pick up a couple for door prizes for the midwest gathering if it ever gets set in stone.......

Anyone have pics of theirs, and or concerns/ praise for them?

i've had one longer than i can remember and it has been bulletproof. great piece of equipment. i have the brass one so it's heavy enough to kill a cape buffalo but i still like it.

Great people!! Fast shipping and absolutely the best case made. Recommend that you get the long one.

I've purchased several brass standard length cases for myself and family. They are very high quality items and make great gifts!

I have both brass and aluminum, and like the brass best, it feels more substantial. I had to go with Al to get the longer ones, but they might be better stocked then they were when I bought mine.

Either way, a good quality piece of gear!

I have a couple, keep one in each BOB! there made super strong and came with some extra rubber o-rings as well. Mine must be near 25 yrs. old by now, with white color face compass dial. If I remember right I bought them in some Duck hunting Catalog ....maybe. Anyhoo, buy one or two, you will be glad you did.

I also looked at them for a long time. I got mine a couple weeks ago. Mine is the long version.

Came with extra o rings and cord for lanyard.

Can the REI macthes be clipped down with fingernail clippers to fit in the shorter one?

There is no equal to the K&M matchcase. I recommend the long ones, even if you use regular matches. Gives you room to change your mind.

One hint ... I find the o-rings behave much better with a little silicone grease on them. Veeery smooth opening, though still no risk of accidental opening.

I get my silicone grease from a local pool store - comes in a little tube. Its specifically made for o-rings. I also use it to lubricate o-rings on my backpacking stove and the fuel bottle cap.
