Anybody got one of these? I'm thinking about picking one up but I don't know if it's worth it. Someone said it was a piece of shit and broke at the pivot, has this happened to any of you guys?

I've got a couple of the KaBar Dozier folders and they're worth the money. They hold up very well under normal use. But, if you go batonning through a log or throwing them at a tree, or something stupid like that then yes, you could probably break it. They'll hold up under normal use though.

Mine, a #4062, has held up quite well, for a 'utility' Taiwaneese-made knife. I've had mine for years - and it's AUS-8 blade, I believe, has weathered many attempts at resharpening it (It was $22 shipped!). The lockup is still 'like new', despite the exhaustive cutting it's been put through. Some thirty-odd years ago, I discovered the perfect tool to take camping for what most folks baton with their knives to accomplish - a Plumb 'Camp hatchet'. I leave my knives for slicing chores. This knife is made to fit a price requirement, of course, and it has no liners. It's strength is that of the man-made (FRN?) handle - don't twist or pry with the blade. It's thumb stud and clip are reversible. I bought it from a Blade magazine el cheapo of the year award. A Buck 110 from WallyWorld isn't much more in cost - and it is a lot more knife.

Kabar Dozier folders are a best buy in the knife world. I have the drop point 4062 I think, folding skinner and the aluminun handle D2. All will do anything you would expect from a quality folder But prying with any folder is a good way to ruin it.

Yeah I think i'm going to pick one up for kind of like my beater knife. I have a knife that I use one knife for like food related things and I don't want it to get all messy doing other utility things.

For $20.00, it's a very good buy. I have one, and although I haven't put it through any torture tests, I think it will hold up under normal usage. It's very lightweight, locks up tight, and takes a good edge. BTW, I got the one with the opening hole, and it's as easy to use as my Spydies.

I'm very fond of my Dozier. It performed very well in a small whittling/cutting test I recently posted in the review section.

Yeah I like the 4062 way more. I prefer the lockback in the center so if I can close it with one hand easier.

I have the KaBar Large Dozier. And have gifted several friends with the regular Doziers, so I got to closely examine them.

I find them to be very useful, well built, solid lockup, worth the bucks, folders

Yeah cause I carry a Buck Juno as my light folder/beater, this one is around the same weight and has a bigger blade with better steel so i'm going to pick one up at the next gun show. None of my local KA-BAR dealers have it in stock and a show is coming up in like 2 weeks so I will wait.

They are nice knives. They seem to hold up well for me. My only problem is that my kids like them too. My daughter took one up to college with her, my son (11) has his eye on my other one.

Like everyone else, I really like mine. It's absolutely worth the $20 or so they cost. I've got 2 of them, both very sharp and lock up tight. Plastic handles without liners so they aren't the strongest folder around, but for the price they're a steal.
