Hi All,

First timer here, hoping someone can help me out to identify this beautiful old knife.
It seems to be pre-war, and the blade is untouched and not sharpened at all... unusual.
I love the look and feel of this knife (and after all, it is a KA-BAR, so that's natural).
Am real interested to find any info on this as I have trawled thru reference books and cannot find any information at all
thanking you all in advance.
cheers,
MD

Model 598-5 if it is a five inch blade. Pre-war as you suspect but I wouldn't say unsharpened since there is no original finish to the blade. Nice old knife. Model 598 was made with 4,5,6,7, and 8" blades with all sizes but the 5" one discontinued sometime after the war.

Thank you Gunsil !!!:)
I now have a model number ...yay!
The blade is 6 & 1/8th" long, with the total length of 10 & 5/8th" long.
Unsharpened might not have been the correct word, it just has no edge on it now. ( a very rugged looking butter knife! at the moment)
Again, thank you so much for your help and knowledge.
cheers mate!
