KA-BAR July 2020 and a New Product

Good Day,

It has been a bizarre year. Our factory was closed for over two months due to Covid-19. Combined with a surge in orders for a variety of reasons and you have a bit of a perfect storm. We had several items planned for release that have been delayed, most notably our USSF line, but our hope is these items will be out before the end of the year. If you have purchased from us or one of our dealers and have experienced delays in receiving your products we apologize; we have been doing the best we can to get products out as fast we can make them. We appreciate your business, support, and understanding.

We have been able to get several items out this year already, such as the 1119 Wrench Knife and BK18. Yesterday we released a new product - the 9928 Dessert Destroyer. It is a USA-made ice cream scoop that also works great on melons. You may ask yourself "yeah, but where are the knives?" They are coming. The American-made lifestyle products do very well for us and help us continue to put resources back in to KA-BAR. If people didn't buy it, we wouldn't make them.

October update:
a new TDI
a D2 Dozier Folding Hunter!
and a pizza cutter!

The 4062D2 Dozier Folder is made of D2 tool steel, an upgrade from the AUS 8A stainless steel used by other Dozier Folding Hunters. Designed by Bob Dozier, widely regarded as “Dr. D2”, the 4062D2 has a Steel Blue Zytel® handle. The overall length of the D2 Dozier Folder is 7.25” and the blade length is 3”.

The 2491 TDI Pocket Strike was created by John Benner, owner of the Tactical Defense Institute (TDI). The Pocket Strike is a fixed blade designed to nest in your pocket inside of its hard plastic sheath. The sheath clips to your pocket, allowing you to use the ring at the end of the knife for quick deployment while keeping your sheath in your pocket. The knife is made AUS-8A stainless steel and has a nylon/fiberglass handle. The blade length of the Pocket Strike is 3.1875” and the overall length is 7.75”.

I agree a D2 folder for daily use would be nice!
