I don't understand why KaBar doesn't make them both waysNice job, Tanker. I’d be all over this if it wasn’t serrated.

Thanks. It is. Handle, guard and pommel are tight. The leather seems in good shape. It's not dried or cracked. And the sheath shows no wear.nice score!
I can't comment on when it was made, but it looks like it's in good shape.
You done good my friend !!!! You done good .This is my first post here but I'm a regular over in the traditional forum. I've been looking for a WWII Kabar for a friend and thanks to a lot of you here I found the info I needed. Now, I hope I understood what I've read. Please chime in with any comments. I believe this to be a 1944-45 Kabar USN MK2. All I've done to it is clean the blade with 3 in 1 oil and wipe down the handle with an old t-shirt.View attachment 1024330 View attachment 1024330 View attachment 1024332 View attachment 1024334 View attachment 1024336 View attachment 1024337 View attachment 1024339 View attachment 1024340 View attachment 1024342 View attachment 1024343 View attachment 1024344
