KaBar Axe

I recently picked up the KaBar axe below. Here it is all cleaned up...

My father used to carry one when we went camping in the early 80s.

Anybody know more about it? When it was made, etc.?

The model number was 1331. The italics Kabar is after 1953 but before 1966 since it doesn't have a model number stamped on it.

Italics Kabar with no model number, according to my notes, puts it as 1954 to 1965-1966.

Do you know if these were made in America?

Any Kabar product made under the Brown family's ownership was USA made. The first non-USA made Kabar knives did not roll out the door until after Cole National acquired the company and had moved the company HQ to Cleveland Ohio. Probably 1967 or 1968, maybe later. I've personally haven't seen a timeline on that tidbit.
