Is it common for the Torsion Bar in Kershaw knives to fail? The torsion bar on my Brawler snapped in half last night. Is there a max number of times it can be opened and closed before the bar snaps? Does the torsion bar actually bend or flex at all? I've only owned the knife for a year. Other than that it's a good knife.

Assuming you got this from walmart last year too? I haven't had mine break yet but whenever the knife is open, the spring rattles around like crazy. Hopefully isn't a precursor to the same problem. Took a look inside and I have no idea how to get rid of the wiggle!

- It's always going to rattle. That's a downside of the torsion bar.

Some Vaseline or grease in the torsion bar cavity will dampen the rattle.

Oh thanks guys! I didn't know if that was something that happened with all assisted knives or not. My only other one is a Fury brand. Only other assist I've even considered is the Barrage.
