Kershaw Chive or Ember?

Hey,

Looking for a small knife for work where from time to time I need to cut banding at a couple other misc. items. I know there are better knives, I know the steel in the blades isn't the best. However they are in my price range, and yes, I want a knife that small.

Just wondering if people have experience with comparing the Ember vs. the Chive.

Thanks.

I'd go for the Ember as I prefer the aesthetics of the Hinderer design and the 8cr13mov blade steel which I prefer over the 420hc Chive. The Ember will also be easier to sharpen as it lacks that wicked recurve.

Out of the 2 the chive, but a leek may be a better choice, only slightly long in size, but the blade steel upgrade is awesome. Very "slicey", I used it for cutting shipping straps for nearly a year.

Have you considered a kershaw shuffle? Or a cold steel micro recon 1 or mini tufflite? All are the same price or cheaper than your current considerations. I would opt for the AUS8 of the micro recon 1, personally.
