Kershaw Clash, My Two Cents.

I have owned the Black Clash for two weeks. I have to say I really like it. Its a stout little folder and I really dig the Ken Onion inspired blade. I do however have two requests :)

One: G10 scales,(like the material on my Tremor).

Two: Little more jimping on the spine. Now this is not as high on the wish list as the G10 scales. I threw a strip of grip tape on mine and it fits solidly in my hand.

I am somewhat surprised that this little gem kinda gets lost in the crowd of budget folders. For knives in its price range,(Tenacious, Cryo etc.), it holds up well against them. Any thoughts as to why the Clash isnt quite as popular?
 
The clash has been out for a few years. Being a budget kershaw and the age factor it just gets overlooked. I do agree that it is a pretty stout folder for the price.
 
I am considering attempting to make some custom G10 scales for it. Never done this before but been watching quite a few custom scale-making vids. The Clash handle is kinda tricky though for a newbie attempt but hey ya only live once right?:)
 
I'm 95% certain that the scales on my Clash are G-10 albeit not the same pattern as on knives like the Tremor.
 
The Black Clash I own are glass filled nylon. They are not BAD scales I just really like the profile and feel of the G10's on my Tremors and other knives.
 
I LOVE my clash. Not sure why it's not more popular, maybe because it's kinda thick for it's size but I like that. It fills my hand nicely unlike my skyline.

I'd like to see a clash with the black blade/hardware and desert tan G10 scales. I'd totally pay a few extra bones for a version like that. If not that then maybe just some different colors like red or blue. I'm so tired of the same old black handles.
 
The tan would rock on the black clash. There are a handful of vids on youtube. One was a light textured G10 in OD green looked sweet. Another was blood red G10 with that dremel tool wavy pattern,(dunno what that is actually called), and that was quite nice as well.

I can certainly see that. That may be why Kershaw stuck with those scales. But those light-textured G-10's in that video really appeal to me:)

This guy did a nice custom scale job. Im not big on the color but its a damn fine bit of crafting.

This is a sick Duracoat job. Not my cup of tea but deserves a look.
