In the description of the Kershaw Funxion EMT it says it has a glass breaker:

A carbide glassbreaker tip can help get you out of a tough situation.

However, under the technical specifications it's not listed.

Does this knife indeed have a glass breaker and if so is it carbide?

Does anyone have one of these knives and if so what's your take on it?

It'd be great to see this knife with a better blade steel like S30V.

Never mind the glass breaker. I see it now in the first photo below but still would like some feedback from those who have one.

I ordered one to see its practicality, functionality, utility and durability. It could be a real useful tool for first responders. If so, I'll post it on the "Multi-tools & Multi-purpose Knives" forum as well.

Like I said in the other thread, I don't want a serrated blade and I think it needs to be a brighter color. I'm wondering if I can get an EMT and a DIY and put the DIY blade and red scales on the EMT. I would totally do that but I don't have a use for the DIY so I'd hate to be stuck with it if I couldn't switch parts out for whatever reason. Maybe I'll shoot kershaw and email. That or I also like the outdoor so maybe I'll order the outdoor and EMT and play around with those and if it works I'll order the DIY to cannibalise the parts I want.

Great little knife priced well. Good functional features for first responders and anyone to have on you or in the car. No negatives.

I picked up an EMT a couple of weeks ago. Here is a review I did on it after I had used it for about a week. Feel free to like and subscribe as I will be doing more reviews of other products.

Also as a side note, I have been trying to figure out the sharpening angle on these, does anyone know?

sorry i can't answer your question, but i was wondering if i could get your thoughts on the liner lock. i was checking this knife out at a local shop the other day and the liner seemed a little thin. it was packaged and on a rack, so i couldn't actually handle it.

by the way, nice review! short and to the point

Thanks, please like and share. I want to start doing these things more, I have a long way to go to get professional. The liner looks thin, but performs stout. I don't foresee having any issues with it. The thing really impressed me. The stability coupled with multi-functionality. I have come upon many accidents on the road when I beat the first responders there and this thing will be great!

Hmmm I was hoping to pick up a Spyderco Triangle. It only has the two settings. Have others used it on Kershaws?

The sharpmaker will sharpen just about anything. It has a back bevel option which will but a nice back bevel on the blade before you put the actual cutting edge on it. That way the edge isn't as "steep" and has more of a gradual change. Really hard to explain in words...Basically get the sharpmaker. I can't sharpen anything to save my life but I can make all my knives whittle hair with the sharpmaker.

The only thing I would change on the Kershaw Funxion EMT 8100GRYST is to have thinner scales in a bright orange color. Of course, if it's going to be used a lot a better steel for the blade. Regardless, you get a lot of functionality and utility for the package and price.

I think it is a bargain for what you get. I wonder if you could color that rubber. Looking into it now!
