Kershaw Leek 1660 what steel?

So I bought a Kershaw Leek 1660 a while back from a B&M store.

I wasn't sure what steel it uses. I know that the current model uses Sandvik 14C28N. I know that they've used a variety of steel over the years.

I've once read in a post (and now I can't find it) that depending on the date stamped on the knife you can tell what steel it uses.

The problem is that the leek that I own has NO date stamp and no indication of what steel it is using so I have no idea what steel it uses.

Can anyone help me with finding out what steel it is by any chance?

Thanks in advance,

KG

Thanks for the quick response Thomas.

So I guess it's safe to assume that if there's no date stamp that it's Sandvik 14C28N.

That's great!

It's my first kershaw (I've only owned spyderco's up until now) and I love it.
I love my spyderco but because of their signature opening hole the knife tends to be on the thicker side (it doesn't feel thick at all in pocket!).

I wanted to try out the leek because of the sleek profile and the speedsafe.

I'm also loving the steel. It sharpens up easily and all I need to do is strop it once in a while and it comes right back to hair poppin.

Thanks again!
