Hello all - Up until 2 months ago I owned 1 Kershaw Knife - an oldie I bought like 20 years ago and have lost around the house of late. Just got back into collecting knives again the last 8 weeks and in that time I have bought 8 Kershaw Knives! I love the knew line of folders - one in particular is the 1820 "Needs Work". Some questions if I may concerning this knife:

#1 - Will there be future versions of the 1820...say an "Needs Work" II..?
#2 - Also - I came across a site once where I saw an 1820 that had a Brown Handle - never to find it again. Thru some discussion - I was told that was probably a "Snap-On" version of the 1820. I also heard not only was there a Brown handled version, but a Blue and Red one as well. If so, why cant I find anything about them on the internet? No pictures or websites talking about these knives - Can anyone guide me in the right direction?

And if your curious what Kershaws I purchased the last 8 weeks, I got the following:

Large Cyclone
Needs Work (plain edge)
Needs Work (All Black)
Junkyard Dog II 1725BLKST
Black Chive 1600BLK
Leek (Rainbow) 1660VIB
Scallion 1620H3
Blur 1670BLK

My guess would be that the Needs Work in various colors would
all be Snap-On. If I'm not mistaken, Snap-On only sells Kershaws,
and it would be a good bet they can get any color they want.

BTW, nice way to jump head first into the world of Kershaw.

Welcome to the forums.

Very nice start Wavester! Don't stop now, you're just getting rolling:D

Let us know when you when it becomes too obsessive. Counseling is available, but we don't recommend it since it would slow down your collecting!!;)

Cheers, and welcome!

No plans for a Need's Work II as of today, sorry.

Don't forget the Grey and Green one's as well.

They were Snap-On exclusives, so the only place you would/will find them is on a Snap-On truck. This was a promotional program, and it's long in the past, so finding them will be difficult as there were limited quantities available.

I REALLY like the red one!...Heck, all of 'em are cool... It's a shame that Kershaw can't/won't make a run of the colored ones for sale other than to Snap-On...:(.

OMG! I'd take one of each! :D Thanks for posting! But now I am depressed cause I prob. wont ever get my hands on any one of the different colors - but heck, I am not stop trying!

It's funny cause I thought I had these knives laying around, but couldn't find them. I shuffled a few things around in my bottom desk drawer and Bingo!...there they were.

You know you have a job worth keeping when you can keep tabasco sauce, scotch, and knives in your desk drawer.

It would be cool to build a FrankenNeedsWork; colored handle with the black blade.

Thomas: I dig the fact that your bottle of Tapatio is the industrial size.

Reaching blindly into a drawer full of open knives and hot sauce seems like a bad idea though.
