To anybody concerned: I was looking around for a Kershaw launch 4 and have been for YEARS now. I discovered a Kershaw site that looked really legit from the outside looking in. The launch 4 was listed for 50-60 bucks. Theyre usually around $100 (red flag #1). I proceeded to purchase 3 of them. After a day or 2 without confirmation emails I took a better look at this site and the Illinois address doesn't exist, they're live chat doesn't work, they say "contact us" but they don't have an email, phone, or a social platform listed. Their grammar was also pretty underdeveloped. I was immediately billed by someone in California and there is no way to call for help. it doesn't exist. I e wanted a launch 4 for so damn long I rushed to purchase without looking around first like an idiot.

Another red flag is that the pictures have Blade HQ's logo in the back, so they're definitely stolen pics too.

You can report this to the gov and they'll flag it or shut it down. I did this for a fake Bernal Cutlery site that was discussed a lot on a kitchen knife forum but it was still operating months later. It was a week or 2 aftee reporting that ever browser I use began flagging it as an unsafe site. I'm assuming the reporting helped this status, but don't actually know difinitively.

Not to mention that the address listed on their website doesn't actually exist.

I've seen the exact same format for a fake Cold Steel site, and a fake AGA Campolin site. Always with the little "Sale!" bubbles, the BladeHQ logo in the background of the pics, and heavily discounted prices.

Thanks for the heads up! It was beyond dumb to fall for this. The pictures stolen from other sites are always a dead giveaway. Not to mention zero contact information, fake brick and mortar address, and the extremely low prices. I was blinded by the BS lol.

Well I'm sure every knife enthusiast appreciates you doing so!!! 🙏 Thanks

How exactly would I go about this process??

Clink the link I provided, https://reportfraud.ftc.gov/#/, and then click the "report now" button. Therr is an option for "impersonating another site/business" or something similar to that language. I filled it in as completely as I could but didn't get bogged down if I wasn't able to fill in all of the boxes. The forms are written in a way that I believe it's intended for someone who was scammed but I caught it before purchasing so I had to work the form a bit to get all of the required boxes filled. By "work the forms" I don't mean lie, I mean give an answer that doesn't really fit perfectly.

For example, there are questions like "how much money did you lose" and "what did you try to buy" so I have to do "$0" and "I didn't purchase, found out it was a scam 1st."

Gotcha I didn't notice your link at first but I found it thanks. Unfortunately I did NOT check before I ordered. I thought I was on a Kershaw home site so I let my guard down and proceeded to make a $180 donation to some pos who needs a job and a conscious.

Did you pay by credit card???? If so just claim fraud purchase on your credit card.

Yup. Do a charge back with your CC or if you paid PP open a dispute.

Stinkin scammers. 😡

I use chime mobile banking credit/debit card for my online purchases. Great when everything goes well and a pain when you need some customer service. I filed a dispute but they said it'd take 6+ weeks😒. I definitely learn my lesson lol
