It is my understanding that the Kershaw Skyline has been discontinued. I find this news to be shocking, as the Skyline was one Kershaw's best knives in my opinion. You know, I can understand Kershaw discontinuing certain models that aren't selling well, but the Skyline is a beloved knife in my book.

In my opinion, the Kershaw Blur, Leek, Skyline and Link are some of their very best knives. Very curious decision by Kershaw. Then again, Kershaw is the same company that also discontinued one of my favorite knives of all-time in the "Kershaw Camber". I understood their reasoning behind that being that many people thought that the Camber and Blur were too similar and most people liked the Blur better. I personally did not feel that way, obviously, but I understand their reasoning. However, the discontinuation of the Skyline completely mystifies me because it's so different from most of their other models, and it has been such a beloved knife for a long time. Oh well, I guess no knife is safe. Anyway, enough of my rant...

With that being said, is there any way that I can keep up with the news on discontinued folding knives? It seems like I'm always the last to know. Spyderco discontinued their Sage models not too long ago---bad decision, IMHO. The only reason I found out about the Kershaw Skyline being discontinued was because I was looking to pick up a new one, and there aren't any on Amazon, and the price has gone up elsewhere as a result of the discontinuation.

I didn't know either the Skyline or the Sage line was discontinued, so you're not the last to know! I'm glad I got a Skyline a few years back, it's not amazing to me but I like the light weight and the profile. Never had a Sage but they resembled the Native to me and I already have a Native.

It never impressed me. I bought one back when they had them at Walmart and immediately returned it. It was super rickety and had play and gaps everywhere. Flipper didn't work at all.

The Skyline was a great knife in it's time, but its pretty dated now and has not sold well for a while.
Bit off topic, but this makes you appreciate the designs that really stand the test of time. It’s pretty awesome that the Spyderco Military is still in production.

I had bad luck with a couple of reg skylines that had blade rub. I tend to avoid bead blasted blades too.
My brother-in-law loves them. I have given him 2 regulars, and 2 XLs (Blade HQ exclusive).
I have only kept one XL for my collection.

The XL version was junk, gritty and didn't flip, think its in pieces in a box.

never cared for the skyline myself. the boa I miss though and a couple others.

Never had one but it was one of the giants in the budget game for a while alongside the Spyderco Tenacious and Rat1/2. If I had to guess I would assume that they cant keep up with the Chinese budget brands like Civivi which are giving you better materials and action than the Skyline ever had and at a comparable price point.

The Kershaw Link was always underrated and underappreciated.

I very much regret giving mine away, lol.

Good time to pick up another. I think the 20cv version is going for 80$ now. Hard to get 20cv for that anywhere.

Don't judge me, but I actually really really like their 420HC. And not for nothing, but I don't like the new handle scales or green, lol.
