Hi everyone,

I need your advice on this 2 Kershaw Stud Locks.
I missed the Opportunity when it came up to get one of Ken's Custom Forum Bumps, and really regret that!

Later A found out that Kershaw had produced many, 3 that i have seen with the Stud Lock, now out of production.
So I was going to get one of the Spec Bumps and then I saw the Offset.
The Offset seams to be priced in the market 2X that of the Bump.

Witch one would you recommend, witch one had better reviews and is the Offset worth the $400-$1000 I am seeing it on the market for?

Kershaw Offset bottom, comes in one with no splatter pattern too i have seen.

I have a Kershaw Speed Bump, and it is a fun knife. At the time the Offset came out, it made some magazine covers and Blade of the Year somewhere I think. I wanted one, but couldn't justify the price tag at the time. The Offset cost now includes the "collectible" factor, which is whatever you are willing to pay. If both knives were side by side at their original price, I would go for the Offset for the better materials. But $400? I like it, but not that much. The Bump line has some neat lines, a funky blade shape, and has been pretty user friendly to me. If you want a nostalgic user, go with the Bump. As an investment or safe queen, the Offset is apparently growing some value, go with it.

Thanks!

I like the Idea of the Offset with that Cast Metal blade.
I might Go for that one.

With luck I hope to find one of Ken's Bump knives, maybe I will post in the WTB thread.

Haven't handled an Offset, but I do have a Spec Bump. It is an awesome knife. Very comfortable in hand, and surprisingly comfortable to carry as well. Length-wise, it's about the size of the ZT 0200, but far less bulky while still maintaining enough volume in the handle for a comfortable grip.

I have both models in my collection.

My Offset is a safe queen, so I can't speak to how it EDCs, but it is a big honking knife, like "makes a ZT0300 seem small" handful, lol! OK, maybe a bit of an exaggeration, but it is a handful.

I have multiple SpecBumps, including users of both the 154CM and S30V versions (diagonal and sunburst 3D CNC G10 milling), and they are a dream to EDC if you don't mind larger knives. The way the knife fits my size large hand is fantastic. The blade shape is so useful. The recurve excellent at pull cuts, of course, and the straight portion of the edge, being angled in relation to the handle, makes for easy chopping and slicing without dragging your knuckles.

The SpeedBumps are nice as well, for the money, but the flat scales are not as comfortable, though slimmer in the pocket.

Hi, at one point I had every stud lock knife kershaw made, including 2 offsets, one for use and one to save. The offset, in my opinion, isn't a great knife to actually use. Extreme recurve, very heavy, and the dual spring AO fires very hard. I much preferred the bumps, slimmer, better blade shape, just an overall better knife for use. Hope that helps!

Edited to add, Im pretty sure Scott got 1 or more of mine when I sold my collection, hope they're working out good for you!
