Kershaw / ZT Composite Blade knives

Out of these two Kershaw composite blade knives which would you choose and briefly why?

  • Junkyard Dog 1725CB has a 3.75" blade with Flipper
  • Rake 1780CB has a 3.5" blade with SpeedSafe

It would depend on how I felt. On the one hand, there are days when I'm feeling more aggressive. Then I'd go with the pointier, upswept blade of the Rake. If I was feeling more pure slicing, I'd go with the more gently sloping drop point of the JYDII. For some reason, despite being longer, the JYDII feels less menacing. Speedsafe doesn't really matter to me one way or another (unless I'm feeling paranoid about how the authorities might feel about "assisted" vs. "auto"... hmm, I didn't think I was that subject to my feelings)
 
I see what you mean about the clip on JYD. It's ginormous!

I ordered a Kershaw Junkyard Dog 2.2 Manual Knife with Composite Blade 1725CB.

Sweet dude, you wont regret it. Its a great knife. It was my first nice knife, before that I thought blade play was normal.
 
I'm getting a real taste for the various KAI Composite Blade knives.
