I see the 405 is back with an higher price tag.
It's supposed to be upgraded.
What are the chances from the precious run?

The ophid I bought 2 years ago is S35VN.
OP, on most of the major online retailers it's always been in stock.
What do you mean by "is back"?
 
One seller has "New (2017) and improved version of one of the first models of Kizer" in the description.

It's possible most major retailers didn't run out of their stock, but I know it wasn't available from Kizer for some time.

I think the 2017 model has a stonewashed blade with the new logo and the new pivot screws
 
The Ki405 was not available from Kizer for some time. The new and improved version features;
- stonewashed blade (old version had a satin finish)
- contoured scales (old version had flat scales that were not very comfortable)
- new type pivot screw
- new logo on the blade
The action is still incredibly smooth for a washer knife!
