Hi!
I can't identify the steel of my G-Tanto. There is "SPG" inscription on the blade, but it is not SPG-2 (Super Powder Gold 2) and not SG (Super Gold/ VG-10). Did you know what mean SPG?

There is no steel designated SPG. Takefu makes SPG2 and that's what should appear on the G-Tanto.

However, there are sellers in Taiwan marketing a "G-Tanto II " with marks like your photo.

Is it SPG2?
I bought it from japaneseknifedirect in the mid 10s. It is 100% original.
Here is another example of a SPG steel knife: link

If you bought it from JKD I suggest that you email Koki Iwahara directly and ask him.
SPG is not a steel designation that I've ever come across. But as I have seen completely unmarked G-Tantos,
it's possible that there are mark variations.
That link BTW is to a Taiwan site as I mentioned.
