....Say that 3 time fast. :)
This is based on a traditional, although uncommon, blade design. It is one I have been wanting to try for a long time. I made this tanto and am finishing a wakizashi size one as well.

Oal is 14" with a 9" blade. The steel is .285" CPM 3V with my high performance heat treat.
Between the distal taper and fullers, it is very nicely balance.

The first 2" or so of the back edge are razor sharp.

The Tsuka Ito handle is epoxy soaked over a large Zirc menuki which makes for a very nice palm swell. And the wasp waste shape locks it into your hand.

Let me know what you guys think!

Love it! I very rarely seen this style tanto represented and I think many people would be surprised to find out it is a tanto at all.

I have seen another style of tanto made from a recycled yari tip that looks similar. Often Japanese yari are flat on one side with a fuller and beveled on the other, chisel ground. Makes for an interesting stabby tanto.

Gotta say, I dig those big zirc torpedoes in the handle.
