Hey there bladeforums fam! sharing one of the customs I finished during the quarantine. Soon going to its new owner! :D

Something Filipino for a Filipino chef! All organic materials were sourced in the Philippines -- Amboyna burl (known locally as Narra) was harvested from Puerto Princesa in Palawan, and Carabao horn was taken from a native slaughterhouse. I stabilized all these organic materials before I used them in this custom.

FEATURES:
Blade:
- CPM154CM, cryo-ed & 3x tempered to 63HRC.
- deep S-grind along the full length of the edge
- tsuchime texture along the blade spine
- distal tapered blade & tapered tang

Handle:
- Tapered full tang
- dovetailed brass bolster
- sculpted faceted handle
- blind pins on a stabilized Amboyna burl/black canvas Micarta handle

Saya Scabbard:
- Amboyna burl
- black micarta liner
- Carabao horn retention pin

Beautiful what a package, it's new owner is going to be exited to say the least. That sheath is off the hook as nice as the knife.

man if that performs anywhere near as good as it looks it's going to be EPIC!

Wow.. That is exceptional! My Kohetsu might be due for a replacement..
