There are some fantastic knives on that list, happy to see the ti Velox2 survive the cull at least.

The Envoy though?

And is the Mistral able to be flicked open, or is it basically just a two-hand knife?

Edit in August 2021- I have had a Mistral for a couple few years now, and I love it. These days Kizer does better with their behind the edge thinness I think, but it's still perfect as a beautiful medium-small framelock. I index finger flick it open, though I can spydie-flick it or use my thumb as well. It's just faster and more natural for me to use my index finger, and the way the blade aperture is set up I think it is the 'correct' way to open that knife.

I think Nick Shabazz killed it, I love mine but outside of this one subforum it's basically a pariah of a knife, nobody thinks they're cool.

I know better, because it's a sweet knife and a great display of Kizer's skill with titanium, grinds, and stonewashing. Also the detent on mine is perfect, it takes a specific touch to use but it's a hidden flipper, of course it needs what it wants. It looks like they are only discontinuing the Vanguard version though.

I'm surprised to see the Envoy discontinued, it's been on my short list since last fall and from what I hear it's got a great stiff detent and action.
 
I know for sure that there are knives on this listing that are not discontinued!
Quite a few of them were on my latest dealer price list mentioned as available and also "available again in May, June and other dates).... Don't think they do a new production run on items that are discontinued...
Also there are many mistakes in the listing where the wrong names are attached to item numbers (Envoy for example).
So al in all a bit confusing...
 
The Begleiter series is definitely not discontinued and recently expanded with two new colors. They were sold out at te factory but now three of the four versions are available again from the factory. So you should see them pop up again at the dealers any time.
 
Is that the list of discontinued knives for 2018? If so that must be a record for one year.
All of my Kizers are on that list. And I thought they were pretty nice knives.

Agreed.

I would doubt that list is reliable......
 
This list is not worth shit. I asked our Kizer rep specifically about the the Vanguard Velox 2 and the two Titanium Dukes and they are definitely NOT discontinued.

Who ever posted this list needs neutering with a broken beer bottle - or maybe a Kizer knife?
 
I've got a blue and red Corto, it's a keeper for sure. Lovely, light, large slicey profile, and a huge amount of blade for both the length and weight of the thing. I really hope Kizer ressurects the Corto and Mistral as Friday Club or larger limited editions, with maybe a few little production updates like thinning out the grind a bit. Getting to pick them up with micarta or dramatic carbon fiber inserts and new anodization colors would be awesome.

Gary you turn me on to this model when you offered it up after trying it out. With the s35 steel and nice leaf blade it makes a perfect beater blade. Still have one in the rotation that’s not getting much use, if interested can have it to you, I think I have the perfect box.😘
