As reported by Knife News, there's another Kizer Bladesmith collaboration in the works! This time it's with Ulrich Hennicke and there are two blades planned, the TASK 1 and TASK 2. So far there's only concept art, but the TASK 1 looks to be a thumbstud, frame lock titanium drop point and the TASK 2 is a full tang fixed blade!

Those of you who asked for a Kizer fixed blade may be about to get your wish!

Here is a render while the prototype is being critiqued pending final approval.

This is great blade shape..I'm happy to see this.

PERFECTLY DONE!!!!!

Great utility knife,I think this will be great knife to use.

What is the blade thickness and how long is the blade?

Thanks for the picture Kizer, I'm a bit technologically restrained right now. I look forward to getting this both as a folder and a fixed blade! (The current renders of both knives show a very similar profile and appearance)

The steel for the fixed blade at this time has not been finalized. The AUS-10 steel was being considered as a possibility but other types of steel could still be contenders. High Carbon, VG10, or some other more exotic steel, it could vary as well depending on the model.

I VOTE FOR VG10 STEEL!!!

I like the knife design very much.
It looks like a real slicer, in that case I would use an exotic steel to set it even more apart from the competition.
I would certainly use K390 or Vanadis 10 if you could get it from Assab in Asia.

For a tougher blade is vanadis 4E the best overall (and my favourite) steel on the market today, but more difficult to get from what I hear.

What will the grind be on this model? Appears as a flat grind but just wanted confirmation. Thx!

Since Blade Show I'm the very proud owner of a prototype of the Task1, the new folder designed by Uli Hennicke.
It is a gorgeous knife ("less = more" design) from the looks but also a very good (perfect?) EDC knife. I'm carrying it now for one and a half week and simply love everything about this knife! I showed it in a Dutch forum and it received very positive feedback. There were even people that said "this wil definitely be my first Kizer"... Production is planned for 2017 (info Kizer) but I hope they will start production sooner. If my gut feeling doesn't deceive me it will sell as good as the best selling Kizer knife so far; the Gemini!
I talked with Uli at length through the phone and from what he told me he also is extremely happy with it.
Kizer nailed his design in the first prototype!
The detent is very good (you can "shoot" the knife open very easily with the thumb studs) and it is impossible to shake the blade out of the handle.
The blade runs on ceramic ball bearings. Overall size 19.2 cm (7.5"), blade is 8.2 cm (3,23") weight is only 122 grams (4.3 ounce).
Okay now photo's or it didn't happen (;-))

What is the blade steel, please, and how thick is the blade?

Blade steel as usual by Kizer; S35VN. Thickest spot is 3.5 mm (0.1378")
But I can not guarantee these specs for the production version as I have a prototype!
Cheers,
Hans

If the fixed version of this knife gets produced, would love to see a little different steel for harder use, like Van4E. Could be a monster hit.
