Hello guys!

This time I would like to present one of my largest knives - Kizlyar Supreme Delta D2 Satin

The knife was made in Russia by the Kizlyar Supreme manufacturer. Delta belongs to the Tactical Echelon Series designed for military and special forces use. All knives in the series have various blades but the same very ergonomic handle made of grippy Kraton with an ABS base. Kraton is also nice in touch and has more damping properties than G10 during chopping and batoning. It feels really good in my hand.

For my outdoor purposes I decided to choose the blade made of D2 steel with satin finish, which is more suitable for survival aspects, but additional black titanium coating more suitable for tactical use is also available, as well as the AUS8 steel blade. Out of the box Delta was hair shaving ready which was very interesting feeling with this size of a knife.

Overall length of the knife is 28,3 cm. The hollow ground blade has the length of 15 cm and 4,7 mm of thickness. Delta features a different broader tip than its twin brother Alpha. The tip is intended for better efficiency during the chopping tasks. This also makes the knife well balanced, with center of gravity at the height of the screw. The cutting edge and all other surfaces are symmetrical. The long false edge with an additional micro bevel is not sharpened by the manufacturer (probably due to legislation in some countries), but it can be easy sharpened if needed.

The handle has a recess for the forefinger. Complemented by the quillon they together give the secure and stable grip. Both the knife and sheath are well designed for right and left handed people as well. The blade can be placed quickly and reversibly in the sheath, depending on the needs.

The sheath gives the most possible configurations of mounting compared to all my knives. It can be mounted to a belt, or with the Molle compatible vertical and horizontal straps, or with included cord to any part of my outdoor equipment, backpack, harness etc. The straps are on both sides. Using the cord or additional strap the sheath can be easy attached to the leg. It is also the most reliable sheath for carrying a knife upside down thanks to the three point locking system. It's held the knife tightly in place. First tight point is deep inside the sheath, second one is visible as outer part with the inscription. These two points in the polyacrylate fiber insert are sufficient to give a very secure lock of the knife, and complemented by the third point of a latch strap, they give perfectly safe knife lock also while running and jumping.

In summary, I can say that I feel the Kizlyar Supreme Delta as the real military knife, and the satin finish version is the great knife for all outdoor tasks, including bushcraft and camping. Delta has large and well balanced blade, very good steel, comfortable handle, great sheath, stylish look and ergonomics in all aspects. When I checked its weight in the store even the saleswoman said: "- This one is cool!", and she was not talking about the pink bead ;)

I found a nice review of the Alpha brother in the same D2 steel, by Bush Camping Tools:

Size comparison and the engraving. As you can see on all pictures it looks different depending on light conditions.

Keep up the good work.

You are legitimately good. I think you could even star in a tv show.

Have you ever tried Kizlyar (not Supreme)?

Will you review any Fallknivens?
