Knafs Lander - Does anyone have the Knafs Lander 2 with S35VN steel blade?

I have a Knafs Lander 1 in D2 steel. I love the knife, it's rock solid, but it's a tad small for me, and I was thinking of buying the Knafs Lander 2, which is larger and has better steel. I was just wondering if anyone has purchased this knife and would recommend or no? It is quite a price jump from the Lander 1.

Just updating this despite the lack of responses... I decided to pull the trigger on the Knafs Lander 2, and I'm glad that I did. Like its smaller predecessor, the Knafs 2 is constructed rock solid, and the one I just received has the sharpest factory edge I've ever seen on any knife I've ever bought, and I have quite a few. It is perfect is every conceivable way. While I was concerned about the price, I don't mind paying the money as long as I get the value I'm looking for in return. Such is the case here. Other than being longer and a little stouter, the only other differences between the blue handle Knafs Lander 1 and my blue handle Lander 2, is that the Lander 1 has D2 steel whereas the Lander 2 has S35VN, and the Lander 1 is a liner lock whereas the Lander 2 is an axis lock. ZERO blade play either way and pristine blade centering in both of these knives. Very impressive!

If I’m not mistaken, the lander one was made by a different Chinese company that the following knafs. Hence the change in materials and price.
I think, and I might be off on the details, that the original was made by kizer, and subsequent models with upgraded steel made by civvivi. Their website shows the OEM if you peruse the models. They are upfront about who makes them which is nice.

I considered getting one until I noticed the size was too small for the original, and the larger ones use bearing pivots.

I think they’ve taken off the info about who manufactures them. Pretty positive QSP did the first Lander. Lander 2 is made by Kizer without a doubt. Clutch lock is Kizers name for the axis lock that you can adjust spring placement.

You are correct, I went back to their website and they still have the oem info posted. The original is QSP, subsequent models Kizer.
I was close, which is surprisingly decent given my memory 😂.

I like that Ben is transparent about who manufactures his stuff. Only the lander 2 didn’t show the manufacturer but clutch lock is a giveaway. The lander 4 is calling my name, I’m a small fixed blade fiend.

I just looked up the Lander 4, which is sold out on their website. I must admit that it looks sweet. I would like to have that one too. If it's anything like the Lander 1 and 2, it'll be a winner.

Big fan of the Lander 1, its under-three-inch blade size and thumb studs.
Perfect for EDCing.
I own four, ranging from an early D2, a 14C28n and two limited-edition M390s.
The early D2 needed a few adjustments. I understand they later hired someone to check tolerances.
All of my recent Landers feel like they have slightly different actions but all are excellent and I love them.
I'd like to get a Lander 3 with the clutch lock if they ever release one with a stonewashed blade and grippy Micarta or G-10 scales.

I started with the Lander 1, but returned it for a few reasons: a little small for my hands, thumb studs were a little too close to the scales for my taste, and also slightly awkward to use to open (probably because of my hand/finger size along with the placement).

Also since the Lander 2 was bigger and used the clutch lock, that was a big factor in me returning the 1 and getting the 2. Now that I have the clutch lock I really don't like liner locks. Plus I'm left handed with knives. With most liner locks being designed for right handers, it makes closing a liner lock left handed a little awkward. Ambi all the way with clutch lock!!

No major complaints so far. Thumb studs still a little close to the scales for me but I've gotten used to them. Usually use the clutch lock to open anyway.

I'm tempted to get the tanto version of the 2 but I just don't need the expense right now. Also wondering on how soon Magnacut will appear in the Lander series.......

Is it time for Knafs to get a dedicated manufacturer's forum here?
