Knife display ideas

I am a carpenter by trade and I have a few ideas for some knife displays.

Small desktop shelves for folders is one.

A window box type with ledges is another.

And of course the standard fixed blade stand with a cradle for the handle and blade.

I’ve not made any yet. I’ve searched online and seen some ideas. But I thought I’d ask here for ideas. Pictures of things y’all handy folks have made. As I complete some I’ll post pictures of what I make too.

I stopped making my own displays early on, and simply buy ready made displays. They are usually front loading shadow boxes, and if they need interior modifications for whatever project I'm planning, then I do whatever needs doing.
I also don't shy away from using any factory provided display that may have come along with my acquisition(s).

Here are just a very few of the many displays I use throughout my domain...
(The first two shown with their glass topped lids open to avoid some glare)...

They having glass fronts is important to me, giving that layer of protection from things gathering to much dust, and giving any viewer the signal to look, but not touch. Otherwise, folks sometimes want to put their acidic fingers all over the goods, and that would cause me too much extra maintenance time 😅

Again, glass can be a friend. It's a lot easier to wipe down the glass every now and again, than to constantly have to clean one' knives.
Some of the displays I own are rear loading, and they are a pita. Front loading is the way to go! 👍

I appreciate all the replies, and the pictures.

I never would have thought of felt covered pegboard, thanks for that idea. I’ll have to ponder it a spell.

I’ve got some small desktop shelves in the works. Not specifically for knives but it got me to thinking. I’ve been wanting to show off my knives a little. I don’t have nearly the awesome collection as what’s been shown here, but having them in a box doesn’t make for nearly as much enjoyment.
