What do you guys think about a knife made completely of g10? I wonder how it would hold up to (very) light tasks and would like to hear what you think. Thanks

Seems to me like carbon fiber would work better than g10, but personally I wouldn't be interested in either. The only purpose I can think of would be to bypass metal detectors.

I make knives from g-10 frequently. They are worthless as knives but great as prototypes for real knives.

You can get a great handle on ergonomics and feel from a g-10 mock up and with the right tools you can make one in minutes.

As far as an actual knife goes? I'd sooner call it a shiv than a knife. It would work very well as a stabbing weapon as the stuff is very tough, but will not hold a cutting edge at all.

I think Boker has a fixed blade neck knife made of all carbon fiber. Considered getting one but no thanks.

Don't forget that one in your pocket at the airport...big trouble waiting to happen. G10 is not an ideal choice for a knife blade...

Ya would not be good at a airport but I'll never carry it. I think I'll try to make one soon with a piece of toxic green g10 I have... I think it would be one sweet letter opener and hopefully I'll be able to cut tape and stuff

el0147 post up a pic after you get it made..

Here is one I ground out the other day..

Looks nice, I only have a handle scale so I'm limited to a small knife. SWEET how does that knife do

It's a test piece from coloring the fiberglass then laminating and ground on to what you see, it works...
