I noticed there was no Discord server for blade enthusiasts, so I made one called "Knife Nuts." Discord is the same as Slack, but more popular, and marketed for gamers, though many different communities use it. There are desktop clients for all systems, as well as a mobile app.

I never really post here. Lurking usually gets me the info I'm looking for. Sorry if I'm breaking any rules. If so, you can just remove the post.

If the server gets popular I may transfer ownership to one of the site mods, or site owners.

Basically it's like an audio non-moderated forum where you can listen people brag and insult each other.
Mostly used by the videogames community as a team strategy management tool.

So I can talk to people and not have a record of what gems were left behind?

Can I search to see what oil is preferred for carbon knives?
Can I search to see how comparable 52100 is to Cruwear?
Is there any stored searchable data, or is it just for conversations on the spot?

One if the main reasons I love this place is the sheer volume of data left behind that can be used by anyone who wants to seek it out.
I wish you the best, but it seems counterintuitive to why I (personally) come on this forum. Though I am sure that some will like having other knife knuts to talk to.

The entire purpose of the original tool is to produce a searchable database. You can search for years old conversations in massive servers if you'd like.

The only way your things get deleted is the same as here, by a mod or you.

Example: I just posted some custom work. You'll be able to find it until either the end of time itself, or when I or a mod delete it.

Having to listen through audio files seems like a very tedious way to search and research information. With places like Bladeforums you can search for thread topics and then scan through for what you're looking for with relative ease.

The service is mostly text based. No audio is saved, that's just secondary. All you have to do is search with keywords, just like you do here.

Instead of debating me on why its so bad without even looking at it, can people set their prejudices aside and try it for themselves?

I just looked at it. On mobile it wanted me to download the app and on desktop it wanted me to sign up without even seeing what it is. No thanks.

From my perspective, it looks like this website, app, database, or what have you aims to be direct competition to place you posted it at. That is probably why you are meeting apprehension. I still don't know what the benefits this thing would have that BladeForums is lacking, sorry.

Yup. Wanted me to download the app and/or register without displaying any hint of content. No thank you.
