Have any of you tried KPL? I don’t want to link to it but if you use a search engine it’s easy to find. Claims to be better than BM blue, Nano, and other common lubes. I purchased a bottle to try but was wondering if any of you have tried it, and if so what your thoughts were.

Haven't given it a go just yet but NickShabazz NickShabazz seems to think highly of it so far. I figured I'd wait until I see how his long(ish) term results end up, but I'm intrigued.

I use anything from Super Lube, Slip 2000 EWL, Tuf-Glide, or any other gun oil or CLP I happen to have open with excellent results.

I'm generally skeptical when folks report huge differences in performance with any given product as all seem to work pretty well.

Just one man's opinion.

I've tried it. So far, it seems better than Daiwa and about equivalent to 10wt Nano-oil in bearing-based knives, and slightly nicer (e.g. smoother) than both in washer-based ones. I'm waiting for longer-term results before I can full on "recommend", but given that it's cheaper than Nano-Oil, there's not much negative to say.

It's better than nano oil which is snake oil in a bottle. Mineral oil for big money.

I also have been using "quick release" which is pretty good synthetic lube for knives. Though it's not food safe it's really good in comparison to anything else I've tried including nano oil.

Dielectric, Food Grade, Synthetic

Been using it for years on firearms, knives and around the home and workshop. Inexpensive and a reputable company.
I suggest reading or looking at the hundreds of reviews online.

Snake oil is not required. (Nor, in truth, is any "specially formulated" oil.)

KnifePivotLube seems to have a lot of hype on Instagram right now. I assume they’re giving away bottles to big accounts. Guys strategically posing their frame lock flippers with a bottle of KPL is all the rage.

I’m intrigued and probably will give it a try as it’s so cheap.

The part that makes me cringe though is all this obsession with drop shut. When I see a video of a sebenza being flicked open or dropping shut it just looks cheesy.

I assumed the same thing given its explosive growth in popularity, but so far as I can tell people have been actually purchasing it (it's pretty cheap after all). They (whoever "they" are) certainly did not approach the podcast about it, we just bought bottles to try it out. For that matter, I have no idea who even is behind KPL, their website has zero information about the company.

I bought a bottle, so far it works well. Is it revolutionary? No, I'm sure it isn't. But it's relatively inexpensive, smells surprisingly nice (they add a vanilla-ish scent to it), and doesn't have the stigma Nano Oil seems to have gained.
