What's up, Blade Forum?

I'm NMK. Pretty new to the site, although I've learned plenty and drooled over pics on here for a while before finally creating a profile.

Quick question, though.

I'm planning on getting my 10 yr old nephew his first multi-function folder (The Victorinox SAK "Tinker") for Christmas. The site allows me to engrave something on both sides - On the front, I plan to have his name engraved, and on the back, I'd like to have a short, relevant "knife quote" engraved. I only have 18 character spaces available, so I'm obviously a little limited there, but I thought I'd ask BF for a few short sayings or quotes I could use. I want to instill that knife lust we all had when we were introduced to blades, but also drive home the theme of responsibility.

18 character spaces. But in all seriousness, I don't know any quotes. There are some real smart people here that probably know something. Good luck with your search. That is a good knife and I'm sure he'll have fun with it.
 
How about "From Uncle Bob" or whatever he calls you? I don't know of any cute short quotes pertaining to pocket knives.

Aw crap, I really like that one but it's over the limit.
Because I'm ordering through SAK, I'm pretty sure they won't be able to increase character allowance, but I'm gonna look around and see if I can make that work.

Thanks for the quote though, regardless. I'll be sure to use that in my "talk" when I introduce the knife to him.

I just may end up doing something like that if I can't find a decent quote that fits in a reasonable amount of time.
Either that, or nothing at all on the back. Just his name on the front.

Between your idea and Blues Bender's, I think I'm set.
I really appreciate the input, folks. I think he'll like it. Hopefully, he won't lose it within a week of getting it lol.

or, if he's prone to losing things, his home phone number to increase the chances of getting it back if lost.
 
"Molon Labe" basically Latin for "come and take it" (not an exact translation). Also, not sure if that is something you want your 10 year old nephew to have on there but it's a famous saying.
