Knife set

hello all my fellow Schrade lovers. i have a steak knife set that needs sharpening. the blade only has one side of it ground to produce the cutting edge. my question is how do you sharpen it? like normal only doing the one side?

While I have never tried to do what you are suggesting I have sharpened lots of chisels and plane blades with single edges. These tools have zero flex to them so it might be a bit different on a steak knife (if it flexes).

Basically the idea with tools is to make sure the flat side is perfectly flat first, raise a burr by sharpening the bevel and then swith back to the flat side to remove the burr.
For a steak knife the 1st step is likely unecessary. I think just raise a burr sharpening the one side then lay knife flat on other side and remove said burr.

Another option would be to just pull them through a v-sharpener and turn them into a dual-bevel knife. I don't think your steak will know the difference.
