I may be driving to Albuquerque next week. Are there and knife shops there or in Sante Fe that discount Benchmade, Spyderco, Microtech etc.?
Thanks,
Rich

Rich,

I went to Santa Fe a couple of years back and there is a decent knife store right near town square. They had a good selection of manufactured knives, but also had some rare find custom knives. I picked up an absolutely beautiful turquoise embedded folder and a really pretty skinner that was custom made in Finland with birchwood handle and scabbard that was accented by whitetail fur. Both knives were priced very nicely...but, alas, I lost them in the house fire. Definitely stop at the town square and try to find that shop. Please post back if you do stop and they still have some great custom stuff. I may make another trip out there. Have fun!!

Richard I hate to tell you that there aren't
any really good knife shops in Albuquerque. I know the knife shop that Alex is talking about, they have some very nice stuff, but be prepared to pay MSRP. They are located down the the hill from the La Fonda Hotel/Restaurant. There is also Santa Fe Stoneworks to visit. The Australasia Knife Collectors knife seen on the Bladeforums home page was done there. Great place to see.

Hey Guys, thanks for the replies. I'll definitely do the two in Sante Fe. It will give me something to do while the other half shops for God knows what.

The "other half" shopping in Santa Fe? That can be VERY DANGEROUS! Be afraid, be very afraid!

Easyrider, Yeah it's never pretty, her running from shop to shop waving credit cards in the air and yelling "I'll take it, I'll take it".........sigh.
