I am going to visit University of Barcelona (end of June), and give a lecture there, on June 30.
Somebody knows of good address of knife shops, you know, Spyderco, BM, ... Spanish Muela, Nieto,...?
OSvaldo from the BF was telling, 'Only exists one shop in Barcelona specialized in sell Spyderco's, Bench's and others'. Unfortunately, he didn't give the address.
Thank you very much.

Try walking down the "Rambla" towards the sea. When you are half way down you should see a Burger King or a McDonalds (an int´l burger joint, can´t remember which) in a corner on your left. On that street about 150 meters in you should notice a knife shop on your right side. I saw some Spyderco and stuff there two years ago.

I visited Barcelona last month and I found a really nice shop in a very good location. They have a great selection of spanish brand knives like muela, cudeman, joker, nieto... toledo steel swords and multiple other things like bags, backpack, letherman.. It is very close to Hotel Catalonia Eixample.. Google maps says the address of the knives shop is 'Carrer Aragó 303'

I found their business card and the website... http://www.deltaforceshop.com/

Hope that helps

Hell, I live there. How did I not see this thread pop up? See my picks:
1. Cuchilleria Labrador. Where: Carrer del Carme
My favorite is a store previously owned by old classy Spaniards, cutlery lovers who were real Knife nuts. After going through hard times they went away, the store is owned now by semi retarded Pakistani people (absolutely no racism here they just don't know a sh*t about knives anf just want to sell to the average tourist their highest priced knife...)
Their catalog is large, though. Swords, axes, fixed and folders, MT and many SAK, Kitchen cutlery...

2. Cuchilleria Sun And Moon. Where: Carrer Ferran (that's the one with a BK and McDonnalds, they are a few meters away from the store)
At a hundred meters from the previous one. Also owned by Pakis now. Way overpriced. Large stuff, from machetes to pocket knives. Many brands, foreign and Spanish.

3. Ganiveteria Roca. Where: Plaça del Pi (beautiful church on that square)
The oldest still working knife store. Catalan owners, classic serviceable people. The owner (not the helpers and women that attend you) is a true Knife Nut. Many products and shaving, kitchen stuff. They have the highest end folders you will find in the city. MTs and some fixed blades as well. Many Spanish classics there, and European knives.
Definitely worth a look

4. Sherman Survival. Where: Carrer Muntaner, number 58
Survival and airsoft stuff, mainly folders. Extrema Ratio, Spyderco, some SAKs... If you can talk to the owner (Pedro is his name) he is passionate about knives and will lead you to the back of the store where he has on display some truly awesome classic and discontinued knives from particular collections and private auctions. SOGs, Muelas, Aitor, Cold Steel, some truly rare pieces and big knife history classics

5. Don't remember the name but its just a minute away from sherman survival. It's on Carrer Aribau, which is parallel to Carrer Muntaner and is really close to this previous store. Just ask somebody for an "armeria" or "tienda de caza" which translates as "armory, weapons store" and "hunting store".and they should point you in the right direction

6. Militaria BCN. Where: Carrer del Bruc number 87
Well this is more of a military library. War, weapons and knife literature, books, encyclopedias etc. in all languages and from all countries. Many American books about the history of pocket knives, the USArmy issued knives and tools, etc. From old to modern stuff. The owner is a true fan of edged things, in the store he displays and sells about 40 swords, and has a cupboard with truly unique pieces from around the world. Dozens of bayonets from all countries, axes, daggers, Khanjas, Kukris, traditional spears and ethnic weapons, Navy Dirks, handmade knives and stuff like that. They have a really really high price tag, though, since they are the original stuff. Genuine pieces all around the store. Ask to the owner, not his younger son, if you can.

I have other places to recommend but the first three ones are within half a mile from Plaza Catalunya and Ramblas (the center of the City that absolutely every tourist end up in) and the other three are in a less-than-a-mile radius from the centric square.
Will post more tomorrow, I'll be glad to help with this or anything else!
Count on me if any of you come and have any trouble in the city!

Probably the OP has already gotten his PhD and shit but anyways, somebody here revived this thread so I will help for any future visitors!

I agree with you in most of your comments. I visited some of these stores during my trip to Barcelona and most of them were really overpriced, including low quality Chinese made knives. That's why I recommended the store in ‘Calle Aragon 303’ (btw near by Militaria BCN, so mitgh be worth it visit both stores in one trip) . The store is owned by owned by classy Spaniards with a long family tradition (they are originally from Toledo, now in Barcelona).

As I said, they have the best deals I found in Barcelona, they know what they are selling, they care about people and they speak English.

Their catalog is also large: Swords, axes, fixed and folders, Kitchen cutlery (including Spanish and foreign brands like global or kasumi) ...

The business card says ‘Deltaforceshop’ and ‘Cuchilleria Barcelona’; I guess they have different fancy names for Catalans and tourist.

ThePeacent: I strongly suggest you to visit this store, you’d love it.

Today I was nearby and decided to visit the place. It was closed, (it was 2PM, weird time here to go shopping), but I am glad I could find it.

Jon, I visited Barcelona last week and I followed your instructions to get to 'Cuchilleria Barcelona' shop in 'Calle Aragon 303', Barcelona. I'm glad you brought that information to the forum because it allowed me to visit the store, then I realized this shop is amazing! I bought an awesome muela hunting knife (I'll bring some pics later).
They have the best spanish brands so it is perfect if you need to want to bring a souvenir from Spain.
I also wanted to buy a sword, however I couldn't bring it on the plane. I talked with the workers and they offered me to ship it to me using UPS! I came back to Chicago after vacation and I received my 'Cid Campeador' sword today!! I`ll bring some pics of the sword as well.

The workers in the shop also told me about the new website. They just released it. I anyone wish to know more about this place can visit http://www.cuchilleriabarcelona.com There is an english version of the website too. I highly recommend this!
