Knife shops in New Jersey

ramsey outdoors on rt 17 (paramus and ramsey) carry knives but mostly folders. prices are nuts though - a $60 bk-2 goes for $100 there  i like supporting local stores over websites too but not with that insane markup.

there's also that army and navy store in robbinsville a few miles away from fort dix and mcguire air force base. it used to be called "harry's" but the employees split up and started their own store i think it's now called cayenne outfitters or something. i haven't been there since early last year so...

I support New Graham because they have good prices and are a brick and mortar store. I used to stop by Ramsey outdoor and Campmor but little selection and high prices moved me online.

Yeah Ramsey Outdoor is pretty much it for us northern NJ guys. But prices are definitely too high to make a purchase. Good place to handle a few production blades from benchmade and spyderco though. Dicks Sporting Goods carries some Gerber and Kershaw blades. Other than that I dont think there are any real knife shops. I have resorted to using online shops and the forums.

I've been at all the places mentioned, selection isn't to big. I was under the impression he was looking for a knife onlyish type place. Which is what I wish we had up here. some type of KW or SMKW :)

The biggest problem with buying knives online is that much of the time you buy without ever handling the knife. What you Jersey guys need to do is come to a NJ Knife Collectors Association meeting. There's no membership so you don't have to be a member. The meetings are open to anyone interested in coming. You get to meet guys from the forums, eat some good food, drink some frosty libations, and best of all you get to ogle and handle some really fantastic knives ranging from a $40 Spyderco Delica to $1000+ customs. It's always a good time and always a learning experience.

There is a place called The Bladesman in Seaford on Long Island that has the biggest instore variety I have seen locally...Everything from Ka Bar to customs...Prices are as expected for retail but at least you can see a good selection..Plus he is an excellent sharpener..Its about 45 min from NYC...

Whats up guys, for all you shore guys like myself there is a place called 5 Star Cutlery in the Ocean County Mall. It has a nice selection of Benchmades including some gold class and the prices are fair. For example a 940 is $140, a 707 was $120ish I believe, a 710 was $110 ish? The guy also has a decent selection of kershaws and can order you any knife from Kershaw or Benchmade and ship it to you. He had some Cold Steel's but not many. Also there were some other random brands but Benchmade and Kershaw were the best brands and biggest selection. He also mentioned to me about getting a Wicked Edge and offering a sharpening service within the next couple months (I talked to him in December). Sounded like a real nice guy, support him!

And here's the relevant post:

It's not in Philadelphia, but just outside of it.

4038 Skippack Pike, Skippack, PA 19474-0466 (Sharp Unique Gifts For Men)

I was actually there today. One of the nicest guys I have ever met. He showed me some amazing knives, both custom and production. He has a great selection of CRK's, even some pretty rare ones.

He showed me some of his custom stuff, and I got to handle a f@cking beautiful Warren Osbourne custom. I was simply flabbergasted at the intricate detail. I also got to fondle a Ron Lake.

On the more affordable end, he has a decent selection of BM's and Spydercos.

Best physical store in NJ to buy pocket knives at is a large army nave store called (Harry's Army Navy). They call them selves "The Most Unusual Outdoor Store" There located(691 Route 130 Robbinsville, NJ 08691) I've literally been to every army navy store and sporting goods store in NJ and it's by far the best place to buy pocket knives!!! Harry's sells army surplus, survival stuff, work gear(clothing/boots) any fishing kind of thing you could need(poles/gear), paint ball and yes KNIVES plus much more. They have the best knife section/display ever for being a local store in NJ. When I first walked inside the place and saw their massive knife area/display, I almost had a stroke on site because I was so surprised/excited. They carry large selection of Spyderco, Benchade, Zero Tolerance, Kershaw, CRKT, Cold Steel, H&K, Boker, Buck, Becker, Kar-Bar, SOG, ect.... they carry both lower cost and high end more expensive knives. Their pricing on a lot of their knives was surprisingly reasonable, pricing was same or very close to what you could find on the internet. They also have a large variety of multi-tools such as leatherman, victorinox and Gerber. Harry's Army Navy really blew me away, it's amazing, I live about 50 minutes away and the trip for me is well worth it. I go about every 2 months or so. Check out the place, you wont regret it.

I've been there before. Nice store. I got my first PM2 there.

That place. Pretty cool but not that unusual? The layout is weird.

Most "unusual" knife store I've ever been to was an outlet for "Knife City" at a truck stop in Arizona – it was like a fast food place for knives.

I live ~ 45 minutes away so I don't go that often. Even though they say they're in Robbinsville, the store is actually in Hamilton IIRC. There's also an abandoned warehouse right next to the highway that says "Harry's Army Navy," which I thought was the actual store. The actual store is in a shopping plaza behind the abandoned warehouse.

You can also get some more popular brands at places like Dick's Sporting Goods. They sell Gerber and Kershaw and Victorinox knives.

Right over the border in Port Jervis NY is JT's knife shop. Its on the other side of High Point. High end fixed blades and folders along with mid-range stuff too. Its worth the trip. JT is a great guy too.

de-ja-vu - I was just about to ask this question and here I see its already asked. I've been trying to find a B&M store with good prices for years and I have not yet found what I am looking for. Oh yeah, you can find places that sells knives (Dick's Sporting Goods, Ramsey Sporting Goods, assortment of gun shops) but their prices are thru the roof. I find myself going to these places once in a while to look, but not buy - but even that is difficult cause for them what is a new for us internet and
BF savvy buyers came out weeks or months ago.

Can anyone here make a recomendation for knife shops/ stores/ retailers in New Jersey ?
