Its around 200 miles. Depends on how fast you drive and the time of day you go through Knoxville. Might make it in 3 hours, but 4 would be safer for planning purposes. SMKW is a worthwhile visit. The folks there are friendly and knowledgeable. I bought an odd ball Buck 430 at a gun show, and the lady at the Buck counter took the time to look it up and give me the down lo on it. I own a place about 100 miles from there so I'll be back.Smokey Mountain Knife Works is a lot farther than 3 hours from Nashville. I would say it is more like 4 hours. Still, it is a great place to visit.
I visit a couple times a year usually. I try to visit when I am on business in East Tennessee and can just swing by from I-40 to their store (7 miles). I visit the Smoky Mt NP pretty often. I always enjoy visiting that store! It would be worth it to make the drive to smoky mountain knife works. I go there every year when I'm on vacation. Plan on making a day of it. The amount of knives in that store is ridicules
Run up to Louisville KY and visit Sparks store. I have yet to do that but plan to when I am up that way. Used to go to gun shows in Louisville several times a year, but that activity has ceased for the most part.
That place is legit. I have seen a bunch of pictures of it. I need to go and check them out. Not too far from me.It would be worth it to make the drive to smoky mountain knife works. I go there every year when I'm on vacation. Plan on making a day of it. The amount of knives in that store is ridicules
Nashville Sporting Arms on Charlotte Pike had a selection of Spyderco, BM and Protechs when I was there late last year.
One Stop Knife Shop which is owned by Sparks who owns this forum. Look it up; shouldn't be hard. What place is this in Louisville? I go through there to and from Nashville...
That will be ending soon since the recent supreme court decision. Sales tax will be collected on all taxable purchases from businesses. It will just depend on how quickly the states get their act together to start forcing the collections.I love to visit Smoky Mountain Knife works, but TN tax prevents me from buying. I can make online purchases with no tax. It’s a lot of fun to go there and handle everything though!!!
Thanks for the Highland Hardware tip. Been going through Cookeville for years and never knew it was there. I just got back from my place in TN and managed a side trip to Highland. Great old hardware store with a very good knife room. A lot of Benchmades. Like one of every one currently in production. Or so it seemed. Lots of Kershaws, some Bokers, good Buck collection. And of course Case. I now own a Case Peanut CV in whiskey boneI live about 30 minuets from there. There’s a few gun stores that have knives but very minimal selection. There’s one called Nashville gun and knife that apparently has a high end selection. And in cookeville about 1.5 hrs from Nashville is Highland hardware with a very large knife shop. Bass pro at opry mills is decent. That’s all i can think of.
