Anyone know of any good Knife or Outdoor gear stores in the Boston / Back Bay area?

:thumbup::thumbup:

There is a nice knife shop in Faneuil Hall called On The Edge. They offer a pretty decent selection, though prices are mainly MSRP or close to it, so don't expect to find any bargains.

That's where I used to go. Agreed, not the greatest prices, but good for fondling, if you need to know how a certain knife feels in-hand.

There's a knife shop in Copley (it's a mall), Stoddard's. Ask for Bob Entin, another one of us blade entusiasts. Tell him, Joe and Melly says hi. Mostly custom and hand mades.

Is that the one on the basement level? Glad that's still there, I haven't been there in almost 10 years. My gf (now wife) bought me a Leatherman Wave there once. Good memories. :thumbup: It's true, the prices were a bit high.

I thought they were only in the Chestnut Hill Mall now? Glad if I'm wrong. I miss the old downtown store...Winter Street, I think?

Hello all. I have been trying to get in-touch with an old friend who worked there for several years in late 90's and early 2000's. Her name is Vanak and if you see this or anyone else can help please let me know. She was the best sharpener and one of the most knowledgable people at Stoddards, no offense to anyone else working there. One of my favorite shops in Beantown…period :)

thanks very much
