Hey guys. So i was in the market for a new ddc fixed blade lately and I've been contemplating how to carry it and i had a great idea. wanted to know if other people do this. Basically the idea is to buy a small boot/neck style knife with a kydex sheath that either has the grommet holes or the slots for straps and then to buy a nylon watch band. Either run it through the slots or zip tie it through the holes then literally have some tricks up my sleeve lol. Anyone have experience doing this? The reason i ask is that i use my knife at work a lot to open boxes and stuff in the walk in freezer which is kept at 40 below. I want to have a fixed blade because i hate taking my gloves off to work the lock on my folder, i have to wear a chefs coat and apron which get in the way of my belt and neck, and were technically can only use the box cutters they give us. The store manager doesn't care and neither does the assistant or my department manager but we got a new grocery manager who people think was sent by corporate to make sure all the policies are being enforced. Plus it would just be kinda cool to pull a knife out of my sleeve lol.

I had two straps sewn in my sleeve(dress shirts) each about 3/8" first just beyond cuff second 3" further rup along opening and carry either a makora2, ultratech, or Excalibur. Just a shake and the weight bring my hand rite where.it needs to be to open. Great system takes some finaglin to get just rite. I suppose it would work in a jacket but most other shirts won't work well. Good luck with your attempts

Only thing I carry up a sleeve is my espantoon. I have been known to slip a blade through a watch bracelet though.

Honestly, I dont think your job is worth risking to have a tacticool way of storing a blade you shouldnt be carrying anyways. I also dont think its very practical. You say you dont want to fuss with taking gloves off to operate a folder? I dont really see how pulling and sheathing a knife hidden up your sleeve would be in any way easier.

Good way to cut yourself.

Agree.

You "technically can only use the box cutters" and have a new manager who's there "to make sure all the policies are being enforced" and you want to carry a concealed weapon anyway?

I can't speak for anyone else, but I'd say it's "kinda cool" remaining employed, amirite gang? Going against posted regulation, especially when the Home Office sent down a ballbuster to make sure everything was shipshape seems like a good way to get broomed.

MA isn't exactly a knife friendly state. I would think twice about it.
