They could be Chinese, but also Pakistani.
They are reenactment knives, mostly for looks. On the other hand they are likely useable as fighting knives, but I would not expect the same performance as an Ontario, classic Ka-Bar, Becker, Cold Steel or ESEE, which would be more useful for camping and survival.
If you like them, buy one. I think many of the old knives they are modeled after have been made with poorer steel and heat treatment.
Don’t expect these to be one-does it-all type super knives and they should be fine for moderately heavy use typical knife use (no batoning or heavy chopping). For that, you should get a hawk or better yet, a camping hatchet.
If you want a period-looking bowie with good to great steel and proper heat treatment, get a Cold Steel bowie.
