I've seen a few knives made from files that are quite beautiful. . .I know quite a few people make knives from files in their garages, etc. when they are first starting and I find it interesting to see the knives people make from the materials they have on hand. . .plus I enjoy forged knives with a little characther left on them vs. ground knives (not to say I don't enjoy a ground knife though).
So I thought I would ask members to post up pic's of knives they have made, own, or know of that were made from files. . .I'll start it off with these that I have seen. . .
Joe Keeslar "Southwestern Bowie" made from a rasp. . .
Serge Panchenko has more than a few in his Art knives:
"Twisted Handle Blacksmith's knives" made from a Nicholson files. . .
"Tribal Dagger" also made from a Nicholson file with a bottle opener pommel
"Viking Blacksmith's knife". . .
"Blacksmith's Twisted Hunter". . .
"Gambler's Dagger". . .
"Twisted Dagger". . .
Probably enough for now. . .as I go through Serge's website there are quite a few more knives that appear to have been made out of files. . .all of which look very finished and I would not consider rough or amateurish at all.
