knives retailers in Seattle

I know there is one near Pike's market but I cannot think of the name of it. I glanced in there and saw some Chris Reeve stuff and other good quality blades. You just have to pay attention as you pass by all the shops as it is easy to miss.

There should be some great knives and sweet deals at the next Puyallup gunshow - Oct 6&7.

Not sure of the name of the shop on Pike Street by the hardware store, but their prices are horrendously expensive. Basically full mfr's suggested retail. I priced a BM 720 in there (since I know I can web order it for $100-$110) and they had IIRC $170+ on it.

In the Seattle area if you want to handle blades from different commercial manufacturers (Cold Steel, Benchmade, SOG, Spyderco, Buck, Kershaw, Gerber, CRKT, Boker, SAK) you can try Excalibur Cutlery in the Bellevue Square, Northgate, Southcenter, or Tacoma Malls. Check out the knives' fit to your hand & operation at the store, then order from the web for better prices.

that is the name of the shop at pike place.

I used to manage it a year and a half ago. all their knives are list.
except kitchen the owner goes to Germany and gets Wusthof and Henckels way below list so the main profit is from kitchen wares.

though he has go some great customs there if they still keep them out.

also the army and navy store on 1st ave and virginia FEDERAL army surplus, has alot of production knives at pretty good prices if I remember correctly.

also fisherman's terminal has a bunch in ballard then there is central gun and loan on 1st and spring near the federal building they have some good stuff.

then WSI shooting range always has some grat items as well.

BUT I GOTTA AGREE WITH ROK JOK THAT ONLINE HAS THE BEST DEALS.

it was fun for awhile then time to move on. got some great deals on some knives.

Even though it's not downtown, I would have to second Excalibur Cutlery for a decent place to go and "test drive" lots of knives. Also, don't forget about the Northwest Knife Collectors Show on October 27-28 at Freighthouse Square (just west of the Tacoma Dome).

Chris, I think I met you at Seattle Cutlery a long while ago - I think you were carrying a Delica that day. The owner seems pretty nice.

The Army Navy Surplus on First is a good one, at least a year ago when I was in there. Plus the guy I talked to knew his stuff.

Also, the shop in Alderwood Mall isn't bad; although, the lady clerk (owner?) was a tad crabby... The Excalibur at Northgate, last time I was there, was displaying a lot of outdated stuff, don't know about Bellevue.

The WA Arms Collectors gun shows aren't bad, and I enjoyed the last NWKC show I went to.

This brings back old memories :) I used to live in Seattle from 1988 to 1993 and I frequently visited the shops mentioned above. My favourites were Seattle Cutlery and Excalibur at Bellevue Sq. I found the prices to be higher at the shop in Alderwood mall, but hey, that was 10 years ago! Things might have changed :)

I was in thailand for 7 weeks. I loved every moment there. if heaven is on earth it is in thailand.

Tom, I usually carry a delica so it was probably me.
