Krazy glue to lock screws?

Question: Per below pic, I have a new EDC pocket-clipped key rig focused around a TEC P-7 Clip, McGizmo clips, and a cable key ring. As anyone who uses cable key rings knows, there is always the fear that it will come unscrewed at the worst possible time, dumping your precious EDC. So I used Krazy Glue to set the cable key ring screw as I don't have any loc-tite. Good idea?

It's been my experience that cyanoacrylate glues do not work well on smooth-hard surfaces. Once they fully dry, they tend to simply come loose.

Just tried to unscrew it. It's not coming apart, so that's good. I guess it's set good. I'll order some loc-tite for the future, though. :D

EDIT: Hmm... there are at least 5 different variations of loc-tite, and it seems they are all designed to be broken eventually; they just require different amounts of force. Is there a product that is designed to permanently seal threads?

If you want permanent, you can silver solder it.

Personally, I would use red locktite.

CA will crack from impact shock, so if you throw that ring on the table every night, it may eventually work loose.

You will not break red loc-tite unless you try to do it,not easy then. I have tried super glue before but seems to break loose if it is hit hard. Epoxy seems to be about the same on smooth metal.

Thinking about it from the couple times I have used it Gorilla glue may work well, that stuff is tuff.

I have used fingernail polish as a substitute for Loc Tite and it works pretty good. We also used it in a bike shop I worked at. Just steal a bottle from your girlfriend and make sure it's not her favorite color. Teflon tape works good and will allow some adjustment without needing to be reapplied like a liquid that dries. Though I'm not sure it will work well on something that small.

Clear fingernail polish is a good trick. While nowhere near Red Loctite, it doesn't shatter like CA "crazy glues".

Be sure what you have attached to your cable is what you want. Once "loc'tited', you will destroy the small fittings in most cases before you break it loose.

"Shoe-Goo" brand adhesive. They now sell it as 'Shoo-Goo,' 'Plumber's Goop,' and 'Sportsman's Goop.'
Goes on like thick toothpaste, dries to a flexible, unbreakable, waterproof seal. If you need to open it, you'll have to burn it off.

Red 262 loctite will be pretty permanent

If you lock up a pair of nuts on a thread, you will bust a gut before you break them loose.

If you want to open it up, you give it some heat.

A soldering iron will do it on tiny knife sized screws.

The blue or purple will still prevent accidental loosening, but bust free with hand tools easier.

Thread lock is designed to be undone if desired but it's also designed NOT to come undone unless deliberately. Put some thread lock on it and if you're worried check it occasionally. You can also try soldering it or staking it.
