Who would like to know that I can get kydex for about $120-$150 is that a good price? I don't know what that stuff gose for but one of the places I buy my bullet resist lexon has some stock sheets they need to get rid of. So let me know if that is good or bad I could most likely get them down abit on it if I tried. I almost forgot it ia 1/8in thick and the guy said its the same grade as the stuff esee uses. I can't remeber what he said it was it's been along day

Thats about an average price per square foot. Unless your planning to make a holster for a Barrett 50. cal I doubt that you would be better off getting it in that size. The 2 sq.ft. pieces are easier to work with.

I was thinking of trying to get it for around 90 bucks or so because he did say he needs to get it out of there so i'm going to see how low he will go on it. The i was thinking of cuting it down and selling it on the trade. Shot11 what do you pay for foot if you don't mind me asking if you don't want to post it can you pm me?

depending on the thickness kydex sells for 4-9$ a sq ft.
so 32 sq ft of kydex is worth (again depending on thickness) 128-228$
so no matter what thickness you are getting is probably a good deal.

It depends on the color and thickness but for .08 kydex in black I normally pay around $3.50 a square. Thicker and cool colors can double that or more.

If you got it for $90 that'd be a good deal but make sure it's really kydex. There are other thermoformed plastics that don't work like kydex and could be far too thick to work.

Is this place a retailer that sells materials to the auto industry or aerospace?

It's a plastic whole sale I buy all my bullet resistant lexan from them. my sales guy said it was real kydex and it is 1/16 black. My brother and I have a glass co. We have been using them for about the last 5yr.

Gotcha. Not saying they are trying to screw you over, just that they might not have known what they had.

I bought a ton of "kydex" from an aero salvage place (not Tony's:D) a few years back in the form of interior panels. It had a really cool texture and I got it dirt cheap. Then I found out it didn't soften and become pliable until it reached almost 400 degrees, hot enough to screw up the handles of just about any knife and melt my heat gloves.:o

The older stuff will take a bit of heating for sure, I get off cuts from the aircraft Kydex when we re make panels and it works just the same as the stuff you use on the knives.
