Hey BF,

I'm looking for a kydex sheath for my leatherman wave, but I haven't found one that meets the following requirements: is kydex, has some sort of retention strap on the top and sheath mount (like a spyderco g-clip etc.) must fit over a 1.75' belt that has a cobra quick release belt buckle - so it can't slip on from the end of the belt.

Seems like none of them have a retention strap. I would get one that can be broken down into two halves, then add a pull-the-dot strap. Also looks like most of them have removable sheath mounts, so welcome to the wonderful world of modding. Tie Tactical makes one with some kind of retention system, or you may want to write to Linos Sheath Works to see if they can make you what you want. Good luck!

I have one and hate it because it sticks it up above the belt line. It gouges me when I am climbing on something or contorting myself To get into a small car.

I just read a review the other day that mentioned that Kydex sheaths that have a pivot and turn mechanism are a pita. (always turning on the belt)
I too am looking but this is now a feature I will do without. (adjustable pivot/spin)
I think Clip and Carry is a winner for me but I have not jumped on it yet.
It has retention adjustable screws and can be put on or removed from the belt when worn.

My clip n carry was less than 20 when i got it years ago. I trust it to not fall out even without a retention strap. I use it at work with a climbing harness and in all sorts of the weirdest positions n spaces. On a harness strap, belt, bib suspenders. It is uncomfortable if I have to lay on it, but it moves in seconds. I'd try it if available still/cheap as it was and i doubt you'll have any problems if you just use it

Take a look at Armatus Carry Solitions.

He makes custom sheaths. Pretty inexpensive. He has a bunch of carry options. Had a couple made for myself.
