Has anybody gotten any knives from Szabo Inc.? If so,how are they. I've seen a few designs, and am intrested in purchasing at least one, but would like to hear a few reviews first.

xaphan,
I had the pleasure of meeting Laci at the 99 Blade show in Atlanta. I must first say that he is an EXTREMELY personable fellow, willing to talk at length about his knives, and those of others as well. He is a true gentleman.
As far as his designs go, they are well thought out, and look as though they will preform as intended. I too havent had the chance to pick up any of his designs, but only becuase my wallet isnt as large as my wishlist

But I have handled some of his knives, and can safely say that the UUK is a true beauty of a knife! Not to say that the others arent as nice, but the UUK sticks out foremost in my memory.
Comfortable in the hand, it felt like an extension of my arm. It flowed well in the small space I had in the isle to get a feel for it. My regret is that I still dont have the cabbage to pick up 2 of them

Before I forget, which model are you looking into getting? I'm going off about the UUK without even knowing if it is of interest to you.

My initial reaction to most of Szabo's designs was one of skepticism because they are so radical, but I got a chance to handle a KerUUK at a seminar put on by Ernie Mayer of Black Cloud Knives, and it WORKS! It is a superbly designed bladed fighting weapon. Also, everybody I have heard from who has done business with him considers him a first class gentleman, me included.

Gotta throw in my 2 cents here....

Laci's sweet. I have a folding UUK as well as one of the new RAD folders. They're both highly unconventional, but wonderfully ergonomic folders. The folding UUK is a thick yet lightweight folder, beautifully finished and sharp as all hell. Same goes for the RAD. That thing's solid as a cinderblock, NO blade play at all, and is very graceful in the hand. I wore mine in a small of back sheath for two days at my weekend drill and often forgot it was there.
