I have a carving set with the name Landers Frary & Clark on the blade.
I would like to know where to go to find out about the maker of the set and if possible some history of the set.
It has 9" blade on the knife, the steel has an 8" shaft, and the fork has 6" tines and base.
All three pieces have stag handles.
I'm new to the forums and am not sure where to go to research the set and the maker so any help would be great.
Thank you,
Bill

Yes, there are silver bands on each of the three pieces.
Where do I do a search to find out more?

Hi,

Landers, Frary, and Clark was a well known New England (CT) maker. They date from the Late 1800's to the mid 20th century. For ore info, post this in Bernard Levine's forum. There knives are pretty popular. I dug out my books, The exact date they were in business was 1862-1965. They started to produce Pocket knives in 1914. Your carving set probably dates from the late 1800's till the 1940's based on description, sorry can't tell much with out a pic. If you run a search you come up with a lot of company info.

HTH:).
