Lanyard Clip Insertion

I'm thinking about getting a lanyard clip insert that can be seen here:

Would I have to take the blade apart to get this in the lanyard holes? If so, can I just loosen the end screw and squeeze it in, or do I have to take the whole scale off (which I am reluctant to do due to fear of messing up the whole blade/knife). Presently I have made a paracord lanyard that just goes through the holes, but I prefer the way my other large Sebenza looks with the factory delivered lanyard, and this insert seems to capture that look well.
Thanks,

You could probably remove the body screws and just loosen the pivot and squeeze it in there, but the Sebenza is very easy to disassemble and reassemble so I wouldn't be too worried about it.

not gonna happen without taking the knife apart...it's not going to squeeze in there

You must take it apart or else you will damage the knife if you try and squeeze it in

The sebenza is the easiest knife I ave ever taken apart. Three screws and your done. And with the tolerances so close, it goes back together perfectly every time.

Every Seb that I have that had that lanyard pin has had that pin removed. I don't care for it. I prefer to just thread my lanyard through the holes that holds the pin (old-school style). I find that this method actually keeps the lanyard material further away from the knife's edge than does using the pin. Just a thought.

But, if you think you may prefer the pin, you're going to have to take the knife apart -- as stated above, though, it's super simple. And you're going to have to take it apart anyway to clean and lube it, so might as well get some practice in.

Here's a quick vid to build your confidence before you try it for yourself:

I believe that for the small sebenza you have to take it apart to get it in, but for the large sebenza you don't have to. The lanyard holds it in place in the large sebenza.

Not necessarily -- it depends on which type of pin you have. "Stepped" pins have shoulders that keep them in place (on any Seb, large or small). Straight pins don't have shoulders, and they fall out. AFAIK, stepped pins are the newer CRK design -- they stay in place, but they rattle a bit with no lanyard attached.

Thanks all. From the looks of the picture in the ad for the clip with the lanyard attached, and from the info you guys have so generously supplied here, I think that I will have to take it apart to get it in. But, I now fear doing this much less, thanks to that Youtube video. It makes it seem pretty easy. I'm going to order the clip and as soon as my new Sebbie needs cleaning, I will put the clip in. BTW, I'm using this large Sebbie as my EDC with a CRK pouch in my front pocket, and using a lanyard does make getting the knife out much easier.
Thanks again!

My Large 21 lanyard pin was NOT stepped and came out when I untied the lanyard.

Looking @ those pics, those pins look like my pine (so, not stepped either) I'm betting they would slip through the holes just fine
